11/9/2004 - Fantastic! The business trip to Las Vegas went great! It was a quick in and out trip lasting only 2 days, however, the experience and learning from it was excellent. I ended up managing the CARS show by myself giving demonstrations and providing more information about the Nomad ETS product. I truly believe in the future success of this technology and confident in the use of it in multiple markets. Take a look at some Pictures from the SEMA show, btw I am a huge fan of the New 2005 Mustang.

School is going well, nearly over with midterms and growing more anxious for the quarter to be done. I can't complain so far the quarter it has been moving fairly rapidly.

10/24/04 - Viva Las Vegas! November 4-5th for my internship I'll be attending the CARS (Congress of Automotive Repair and Service) Event at the Flamingo in Las Vegas. I'm very excited to contribute and help position the Nomad ETS System as a premier tool for Automotive Repair.

10/11/04 - Back into the grove of school again. So far, not so bad. Last weekend in Colorado was great, the wedding was fantastic and enjoying the time with family was perfect. It of course was not long enough. Check me out on my Uncle's 2002 Harley Davidson Dyna Wide Glide FXDWG3.

9/27/04 - Anxious. School starts back up Sept 29th for me; of course just as I got used to the summer break, although it's nice being a senior and only having 9 months to graduation. I'll be taking the following courses: Managing Teams, Business Finance, and a liberal Arts course about resistance movements. Looks challenging, I like. Lately I've been busy, working both jobs (Cascadia, and Microvision), pretty much a fulltime schedule. My internship has so far been great; I'm working on exciting projects and enjoy taking on new challenges and extending my technical and business skills. I'll be flying back to Colorado Thursday for my Cousin Nicole's wedding on Friday. I'm excited and can't wait to see all my family. I'll be flying back home Sunday evening and hitting the ground running again with school Monday.

9/4/2004 - Great first week on the internship. I'm starting to get adjusted to the climate and people, I'm already working on a couple cool Marketing Projects. I'm very fortunate and glad to be contributing to a very cool company. I report directly to the VP of Marketing.

I have finally slowed down enough to relax and start enjoying my summer break. I've been hanging out with friends and meeting new ones as well. I'm having an awesome time. I've also been out riding my motorcycle, working out, and enjoying the family. I'll be flying back to Colorado early October for my cousin Nicole's Wedding, I'm very excited to visit and see family again. On Sunday I'll be heading out to the Evergreen Fair to watch the car races and demolition derby. The weather should be nice.

Lately I've been listening to the artist Govi. His music is so soothing! It's a wonderful blend of spanish guitar with other assorted instruments, similiar to a flamenco style. I even recently ordered another of his cd's "Saffron & Silk" and trying another similar artist, Armik "Romantic Dreams".

8/27/04 - Excited! Just recently I acquired an Internship doing Market Research for a local technology company. Microvision (MVIS). The technology they employ is fascinating. Customers include, American Honda, Volvo Trucks, and others.

"The Nomad® Expert Technician System is a wireless, wearable information tool that provides mobile workers with computerized information right at point of task by augmetning the user's vision, but not affecting the view of the task."

8/23/2004 - Happy. Finally I'm a Senior in College! Summer school concluded last week eliciting a huge sigh from me. I now have 6 weeks to recover and prepare for the beginning of the last year push. I'm so surprised how fast the last year went by, I can only expect the last one to go much much faster. After the last day of school a friend and I went and watched the Beatles Laser Show in Seattle; it was awesome, a nice self reward for finishing school up. The following day I jetted down to Oceanside, Oregon for a weekend Business Retreat with peers in the business school. It was facilitated by a Business Professor, Alan Leong, and advisor, David McPhedran. The purpose was to kickoff the Entrepreneurs Competition being held this upcoming Fall and Next Spring. The idea is to create teams that develop a business idea and develop it to a level for presentation. The teams "compete" the plans against each other being judged by Venture Capitalists, Angel investors, and other industry professionals. The winner’s receive seed money from the UW along with benefiting greatly from the exposure and experience. I'm currently the Program Manager of one Business Plan and totally excited to develop it. The retreat was held on the coastline of Oregon and was a perfect spot for Idea creation, formulation, validation, and criticism. It was a tremendously inspiring opportunity.

8/23/04 - The plans for the next six weeks will be enjoy the time off, but I for sure will not be "lazy". I have plans to visit the Evergreen State Fair, Fix my car, get some Motorcycle riding in, catch up on some movies, chill with friends, poker with the guys, work, and of course most importantly; enjoy sleeping in. I have many more things planned but those are a key few.

On my way back from Oregon I stopped at an awesome Kite festival in Long Beach, WA. It was unbelievable, so many kites and so many people. I stayed for a couple hours and just observed. One man was flying three seperate kites at one time, he was a true master. I will try to go again in the future.

8/10/2004 - Over. The wedding came and went. My sister is now known as Lisa Sarbu (Sarb - you) with a happy husband Tim Sarbu. The wedding went great, it started late but perfectly timed for the rain to stop and have a wonderful break for the ceremony. The location, Leifer Manor, approximately 20 miles north of Everett in Marysville WA. It was an outdoor wedding but had these wonderful tents and heaters. The food was great, the DJ was fun, and the family in attendance topped it all off. Most of the family arrived Thursday and had all smiles for Friday. Saturday we went down to Seattle's Pike Place Market, and that night some went to the Tulalip Casino. Sunday was the most scary day, Lisa and Tim was involved in a roll over accident while coming back from Mukitelo Island with the family. The accident was caused by mutual road rage, and ended in a very scary accident in front of most my family in other cars. The pickup truck went across the highway slammed sideways into the guardrail and then went airborne and landed on it's roof. Miraculously they crawled out unharmed. My family was so relieved. The other vehicle didn't even stop! I'm so glad everything turned out well. Not much new with me, other then almost done with school for this summer. Hooray! I think I may go on a solo camping trip over my break. Check out PICTURES

8/4/2004 - Hectic! My sister, Lisa, is getting Married on Friday Aug. 6th and I've been helping my family a lot around the house. We've been painting, cleaning, moving and getting ready for family. I think we all are looking forward to Saturday when we can just sit back and recover. I'm very excited for family to visit from out of state. I'm still busy with school; which is going great, but tough. I have 2 weeks left until I'm officially a Senior. My Work motivation course has been very inspiring and I can't wait to apply the knowledge as a Manager. I'm looking forward to a planned business retreat at the completion of this summer quarter down in Oregon on the Beach. I've been listening to some very great studying music lately Ratatat.

7/14/2004 - Starbucks Commercial is finally posted. I created this for my Marketing Course during Spring quarter, it has recieved much attention. I now can share it with the world. Please take a look and tell me your thoughts. School is going great, last week I visited the Seattle Art Museum to see the exhibit "Feasting with Gods" of course I had to see Van Gogh works as well, totally amazing.

7/6/2004 - Awesome Concert! Monday evening I took my mother to see Sarah McLachlan at the Seattle Center It was a great time. Sunday was pretty mellow for the 4th, no fireworks set off this year just watched the tv. Went and saw the movie Terminal with Tom Hanks, it was interesting, had some funny parts not to bad. I also picked up my new suit. It's a Joseph Abboud suit, it's a black with very subtle pin stripes. Very slick, I'm happy with it, got it perfectly tailored to my body, can't fit better.

6/27/2004 - Interesting Summer quarter so far. The first week of classes went by fast, maybe because I enjoy them. My Google course is alot of fun, so far I've not learned alot of new stuff technically, but I have gained a nice list of cool websites. I'm working on a deeper analysis around search terms and brand awareness. My Mexican art class is going great too, so far I'm learning alot about my deep heritage and finding interesting correlations between me and my past culture.

Today was another beautiful day, I went and bought a new suit, very sharp and I can't wait to wear it. So many I wanted to get. This is one of many I'm sure.

6/21/2004 - Relaxed, Refreshed, and Ready to go back to school. I passed all my Spring courses. Not a huge surprise, but one with much relief. I begin Summer courses today. I'll be taking a class based all about Google. It's quite the 'bleeding edge' course. It's a shortened term, that means I go for only 4 weeks, opposed to the regular 11 week qtr. My day will seem pretty long, but I'm excited for the Instructor and the content. 1-5:30pm MW, Yikes, what fun! I also will be taking a Liberal Arts course about Mexican Art, and another Business course about Work Motivation. I think I'll enjoy this summer schedule.

Over the short week break a friend and I went out Camping to the Ocean. We stayed at Ocean City State Park. It was a short trip, but one well needed, and well appreciated. We camped and spent the day at the Beach. We had wonderful weather, only one small thunderstorm that came, and went it's way.

Check out the Camping Gallery

6/3/2004 - Almost There! Spring quarter is coming to an end. I can't wait till this time next week. School will be over and I'll be recovering. This week has been brutal so far, Wed was the worst. First I had an Operations Management Final at 8am, then I had a Marketing Project Presentation at 11am, then I worked from 1 till 7:30pm, then I had another Presentation at 8pm. I didn't get home untill 11pm...and I was exhausted. The next day was much more tolerable. I am finally able to ride my motorcycle, the weather couldn't be any nicer. Wahoo!

5/24/2004 - Crunch Time! The ball is rolling fast, school projects nearing an end, Stress is flying high. It's been a while since I posted, and a very important reason why too. Callie flew home to visit me. Things are going good between her and I and I hope the good can continue in the future. I have put it in the lords hands, we shall see what is meant to be. We've had some nice weather here the past couple weeks of which I've not ridden my motorcycle, the reason, dead battery. However I plan to put that to an end this week. With Gas prices soaring it's very wise to utilize my 60mpg Motorcycle; plus, It's so much fun!

5/7/2004 - Exhausted. What a busy week it has been. School, birthday, work, school, internship, meetings, and more homework. Although, I can't complain, things could be worse. The weekend ahead will be busy as well, Saturday plans are celebrating Jared's last single days, it's the bachelor party. We'll be going to the Seattle Sounders game, and then hitting some dance clubs in Pioneer Square, nothing to scary. Sunday will be Mothers day, and a good day to sleep in. My family also plans to celebrate my birthday too, mmm, I can already taste the carne asada. The week ahead is also promising, Wed. I will be meeting with a Microsoft GM as a student of the Business Program at the UWB. I look forward to the opportunity, who knows what can come of it. BTW, got the pictures of me in my "green" shirt!

5/5/2004 - Officially 23! May 4th was the day. It came, and it went. It was a wonderful day. I don't feel older, but I am feeling old. I had no work and no school, what a b-day present that is! I still went into to work and had a small gathering with cake, it was wonderful. We plan to celebrate as a family on Sunday at the new restaurant in mill creek, La Palmera. I can't wait! My other option was mom's enchiladas, rice, and chili. Maybe I can get that too! Today I recieved numerous well wishes from all over for my birthday, it was a great feeling and I really appreciated it all. People really do remember my birthday because of that stupid saying. "May the Fourth" be with you!. Star Wars reference.

4/30/2004 - I was invited as a student representative of UWB to speak before the House of Represenatives committee on Higher Education, it was to discuss the overview of the college's operations and it's plan in the future. It was a great opportunity to give input as a student of the program. That same night I went to watch The Moonshine Incident down in Seattle at the Central Saloon, little did I know it was at a biker bar. I was all dressed up in my suit, and tie. I'm still alive, but it was interesting. The band played well. Plans for the the weekend: Studying, Sleeping, Work, and more Studying. Joy! I found an older picture of me on my uncle's Harley, it's only fitting I now own a Buell, and have a dream of getting the red Ducati.

4/25/2004 - Business Party! Saturday the Business Program at the UWB celebrated it's 10th year anniversary. It was a great opportunity to meet and talk with Alumni, faculty, and students. I had a great time networking. Earlier that day I took my first Kung Fu lesson. I have been curious for a while now about martial arts, and I recently met a classmate that teaches it, the place is called "The school of Self". It was alot of fun. Tough mentally, and physically. I would love to continue it further. School is going well, I'm learning alot, and having fun making new friends. Earlier in the week I participated in a legal discussion about outsourcing with the UW Law School. It was very interesting talking about the legal issues. My parents just took off to celebrate their 30th year Wedding Anniversary. I'm so proud they have stuck together for so long.

4/15/04 - Fabulous! My speeches at the Luncheon for the Exhibitors at the Career fair went great. I must say, I was rather happy my new style went over so well. I bought a rather "bright" green dress shirt and matching tie for the event, and I think I pulled it off quite well. The audience loved it. I might be able to get a picture and post it, keep an eye out for it. This friday my Operations Class is heading to REI and evaluating their distribution center. It looks pretty cool. Friday I'm also meeting with the Cascadia Foundation to work on implementing a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software using Salesforce.com. I read a wonderful poem tonight from a good friend. Her and I can relate so much. Please read Broken

4/11/04 - Easter Weekend. Two wonderful days of sun. Perfect motorcycle riding weather. Saturday rode down to Mukilteo beach to relax and study. Did some preparation for a short speech I'll be doing at the career fair this week. Sunday went to church with the family. It was good, we all seemed to like the new leadership. I again, went riding. Went down to Edmonds beach and then visited a good friend in Bothell.

4/5/04 - "It is not about finding yourself, but Creating yourself." I read that quote today, and couldn't agree with it anymore. I am creating my own opportunities. Today was another wonderful day; one of many in the past week. Saturday was my older Sister Lisa's Birthday, family and friends went and had a great time bowling. I was surprised how bad I've gotten. Later that night a few of us went down to Jillians and played pool, video games, and danced. School is going great, I'm already knee deep in work but I'm already making connections. I will be very prepared for the real world when it comes next Spring.

3/28/04 - Relaxed. What a marvelous day it was today. I decided to take personal break and drive up north about 50 miles into the San Juan's. Deception Pass was the destination. A beautiful convergence between Whidbey Island and the Mainland. The sun was so wonderful and strong. It felt serene. Pictures. School starts back up tomorrow morning and I hope this new quarter starts off well like last. I've become very excited for the newest focus at the UWB in Management of Information Systems. I begin at 8:45am-1:15pm, and then I have another class at 8-10pm, but with an exceptional instructor. I'm excited for it.

3/26/04 - I'm a Loser. I Did the poker tournament last night and didn't get very far. 30 minutes in...Lost an all in to a pair of Queens. Oh well, it was a blast. I'm sure I'll go back up to the Tulalip Casino and do it again.....and No, I am not addicted. Spring break is almost over, and I'm starting to get ready to get back into school. Gotta keep my mind busy, to much idle time can be a bad thing.

3/24/04 - Bliss. What a long awaited break. Spring break has been going great. So far I've gone on a road trip on my motorycle up to GoldBar, Hockey Playoff Game, and alot of relaxing. Still alot of time left, and I plan to do more. No limit Texas holdem poker is tomorrow night. Deception Pass Trip possibly on Friday, weather pending. And something else...not sure yet. BTW, Dawn of the Dead = Good entertainment.

3/16/04 - Spring Break!!! What a first quarter at the UW. I'm very confident with two of my courses, the third, had a difficult instructor, time will tell. Plans for Spring break include - WHL Hockey, Poker, Movies, Road Trip, Motorcycle Riding, Family time, Sleep, Work, Volunteering help for the MIS concentration, and probably alot of R&R. Classes begin back on March 29th. I'm already anxious. Check the Spring Break Gallery for Pics.

3/10/04 - Finals are Here! So far I'm mostly complete with all my classes. Finished up My management class on Tuesday, gave a presentation. I'm sure we pulled a good grade out of it. Saw the Movie "The Passion" over the weekend. What a Powerful movie. I'd recommend everyone see it. It is graphic, but accurate.
On a sad note, after 4 years, Callie and I have gone our seperate ways.

2/16/04 - Busy as ever! It's been a while since I've updated it, but now seems just right. So far things are going great. I'm doing great at the UW and I've even already landed an internship. I'm doing Business Analysis for a small Software company. http://www.acirius.com. I'm loving it at my school so far, it's alot tougher, but more rewarding. I can't wait till the sun comes out, itching to ride my motorcycle. Summer time I can't wait for you!

1/7/04 - Up and running - Cold and Happy. Welcome to my website hosted on my school server. The Cold...Nice winter blast pelted us with about 3 inches of snow. The Happy....school was canceled. First day of classes at the UW was on Monday, and boy am I excited and nervous.

12/26/03 - Christmas - What a wonderful Holiday. The break was of course, not long enough...but fun to spend it with family and the girlfriend. Callie got me a Promise ring for xmas and I am still amazed. Family, Girlfriend, Health...and sanity...not much more I can ask for.

12/15/03 - Accepted! I, Matthew Lee Carmean was accepted to the University of Washington Business Adminstration Program at the Bothell Campus. I'll be continuing my never ending learning process and plan to focus on the MIS (Managment Information Services) or the TIM (Technology and Innovation Managament) in the program. I'm thoroughly excited
